TAP Presents George Sawyn and Mike Cosentino

Guitarist and vocalist George Sawyn joins Chicago saxophonist Mike Cosentino for an evening of standards from the Great American Songbook & Beyond on Saturday, September 18 at 7:30 pm at Third Avenue Playhouse.

Typically, the Great American Songbook refers to music written between 1920 and 1960 – standards interpreted and popularized by artists like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole and more. Sawyn and Cosentino will feature favorites from that era, along with material by composers and lyricists who carried the torch into the latter half of the 20th century – Paul Simon, James Taylor, Carole King.

Sawyn is a 36-year veteran of the Chicago music scene. He performs frequently with Jeanne Kuhns as a member of her band, Lost Mothra.

Saxophonist Mike Cosentino is a member of the Chicago Grandstand Big Band, an integral part of Chicago’s entertainment community for over 30 years and a talented solo performer.

Tickets for George Sawyn & Mike Cosentino are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students, and $8 for children.

Tickets can be purchased at the theatre box office at 239 N. Third Avenue in Sturgeon Bay, over the phone at 920.743.1760, or by visiting http://www.ThirdAvenuePlayhouse.com. Tickets are also available at Dancing Bear, 13 N. Third Avenue in Sturgeon Bay.
