The Francis Hardy Center for the Arts Adds New Intern

The Francis Hardy Center for the Arts (FHCA) has named their 2008 summer intern, Rose DeHut. DeHut is an undergraduate student from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, majoring in Gallery/Museum Practices with minors in Arts Management and Graphic Arts.

A chief aspect of DeHut’s education has entailed her studying the proper museum installation methods concerning works of art in exhibitions. DeHut has been able to work in the Lawton Gallery located on the UWGB campus, developing skills in the gallery/museum field which will enhance her internship position within the FHCA. The internship is a multifaceted one that offers undergraduate students experience in both the management of a not-for-profit arts organization and the gallery/museum field.

Coming aboard during the summer season allows DeHut the opportunity to be involved in the height of the Francis Hardy Gallery’s opening season, including the Wall-to-Wall Salon Exhibition and the 46th Annual Juried Exhibition.

It is also DeHut’s objective to gain experience working alongside the volunteers and docents of the Francis Hardy Gallery and to become involved within the youth educational and adult enrichment programming of the FHCA.

“Working with the volunteers of the Hardy has been like nothing else that I have experienced,” said DeHut. “Each person has such passion for the arts and all that the Hardy stands for.”
