The Play’s the Thing 2017 Series Ends on a Positive Note

Peninsula Players Theatre presented a reading of Miss Holmes by Christopher M. Walsh before a crowd of more than 125 at Björklunden on April 3. Miss Holmes was produced as part of The Play’s the Thing, a winter series of play readings organized by Peninsula Players Theatre.

Audience members enjoyed the evening’s performance by Peninsula Players veteran company members Cassandra Bissell, Neil Brookshire, McKinley Carter, Amy Ensign, Anne Herring, Maggie Kettering, James Krag, Chad Luberger, Mark Moede and Greg Vinkler. Bissell performed the role of Miss Holmes and Kettering, Dr. Watson.

“Audiences have been very supportive of the winter play reading series since its inception,” said Brian Kelsey, Peninsula Players Managing Director. “Each event has been close to room capacity with some attendees joining us from as far away as Green Bay for these special performances. We are grateful for the support of the foundations and organizations who helped fund this programing for our community. We are thrilled the public enjoys the experience of the readings and appreciates the performances of the talented casts Artistic Director Greg Vinkler assembles. We are looking forward to next winter!”

The Play’s the Thing 2017 season was funded in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin, as well as generous grants from the Door County Community Foundation, Door County Medical Center, Friends of Door County Libraries and operating funds from Peninsula Players Theatre.
