“All Things Lavender” Festival Returns July 22-24

Fragrant Isle Lavender Farm & Shop will host its second annual “All Things Lavender” Festival July 22-24. Festival hours are 10 am – 5 pm Friday and Saturday, and 11 am – 3 pm Sunday.

Festival highlights include daily seminars presented by lavender industry experts, daily tours of the barn to see and learn first-hand how Fragrant Isle cultivates, harvests and distills its lavender for its products, the U-Pick Cutting Garden where visitors can gather and cut their own lavender bundles, lavender food and drink, Washington Island Scandinavian dancers, musical performances and other entertainment.

Wander amongst more than 14,000 lush lavender plants bursting with color and fragrance. Bring a camera, sketchpad, or paintbrush and put your creativity to work in the beautiful lavender fields.

These are the seminars lined up for the festival: “Growing and Processing Lavender” with Fragrant Isle President Edgar Anderson, topics include harvesting, cleaning and distillation of lavender; “Using Lavender in Everyday Life” with Kyle Ransom, farm staff; “Lavender Wand Making” with Ann Marie Craig of Century Farm House; “Lavender Chocolate Making” hosted by Sweet Trio of Grafton.

Laura Waldron will join the festival on July 22, providing half-hour upper body massages among the blooming lavender plants (in a private tent). Each massage is $30.
