Twelve-Year-Old Wins Coveted Award at Short Film Festival

The Fourth Annual Door County Short Film Festival, held on Feb. 9, was a roaring success. With workshops during the day and film screenings in the evening, The Sister Bay Village Hall was alive with creative energy throughout the day.

Around 75 people attended the first film screening of the evening, which showcased some of the best films from the past years’ festivals. The main event, the screening of the 2013 short films, drew a standing room only crowd. Over 100 people watched films that ranged from an intense thriller, to a musical, to a look at the day in the life of a cat.

The 2013 Coffee Mug Award (chosen by the audience) went to Thomas Fleishmann, from West Bend, WI, for his film, Alexander Copenhagen & The Key of Destiny. Fleishmann, age 12, had two films in the festival and impressed many viewers.
