Unity Hospice to Benefit from Ephraim Moravian Concert

Beth Chafey-Hon and Maryellen Pung will present a concert at Ephraim Moravian Church on Sunday, July 10, at 2 pm. The program includes classics from Beethoven, Brahms, Bach, Franck, as well as original piece from Beth Chafey-Hon.

Chafey-Hon is a local Door County violinist who has been playing professionally for many years—she recently returned to finish college and has earned her Bachelor of Music in Performance and Composition. This is a celebration concert for her graduation, with a reception following. Beth loves classical and ethnic folk fiddle music of countries around the world and especially enjoys arranging and composing. She has produced two CDs and is working on two more. She and husband Bob have a daughter, Angel, who has a BS in Biology.

Maryellen Pung, a child-prodigy pianist (student of renowned Swiss-American pianist-composer Rudolph Ganz) and performer and piano teacher for many years, still performs major solo pieces in various venues in Oshkosh. She got a Bachelor of Music in Performance at Michigan State College. She has played duet programs with her daughter, Julie, who has a Masters in Piano, and is always available to the music students at UW-Oshkosh as an accompanist for recital pieces at any difficulty level.

There will be a free-will offering for Door County’s Unity Hospice program.
