Upcoming Events at Sturgeon Bay’s Crossroads at Big Creek

Crossroads at Big Creek will continue offering programming and educational opportunities throughout January.

On Friday, Jan. 21 the Door Peninsula Astronomical Society will present a planetarium show at 3:30 pm. The show, entitled “The Read Stars of Harry Potter” will show the locations of Sirius, Andromena, Belletrix, and Draco. Attendees will learn about the actual celestial objects that J.K. Rowling used in her popular book series. The event is free and open to the public.

On Saturday, Jan. 22 the Crossroads will host a lecture at 4 pm entitled “Nature and the Fibonacci Series.” The presentation will focus on the famous sequence of numbers first created by Leonardo Fibonacci in 1202, which appears with amazing frequency in nature. The lecture, taking place in the Lecture Hall of the Collins Learning Center, will feature a slide show providing examples of this curious phenomenon.

On Sunday, Jan. 23 the Friends of Crossroads will host a Community Ski from 1 – 3 pm. Skis or snowshoes will be available to borrow until dusk. The activity is free and participants are asked to meet at the Collins Learning Center.
