Sturgeon Bay’s Sourced is featuring new upcycled art by Dawn Patel. “Refab,” Patel’s line of upcycled clothing, has been available at Sourced since 2014; she transforms vintage clothing and fabric through creative tailoring, mixing patterns and adding hand-painted and silkscreened imagery. An artist who enjoys constantly challenging herself to work in different media, she has been adding all sorts of art objects to her stock – prints, paintings, even soft sculptures.

Patel’s latest additions are painted vintage windows. “Abstract flowers,” she says, “to bring some of the beauty of this season indoors all year round.” Patel adds acrylic paintings to the glass, and seals them with a clear coat to protect them. They are wired and ready to hang on a wall or in front of a window.
