Victor Yampolsky Returns As PMF Guest Director

Victor Yampolsky will return to Peninsula Music Festival (PMF) as guest director for the organization’s Aug. 8 performance of Tchaikovsky’s “Piano Concerto No. 1” and “Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Op. 74.”

Yampolsky served as PMF’s conductor/music director from 1988 to 2019, and remains its conductor laureate. Under Yampolsky’s 30-plus years of leadership, the orchestra grew from a chamber ensemble into a full festival orchestra with a roster that will showcase over 80 musicians during its 72nd season, which runs Aug. 6-24.

Yampolsky will be accompanied by Ukrainian pianist Inna Faliks, who recently published a memoir titled Weight in the Fingertips.
