Viking Boys Seeded No. 12, Pioneers No. 14 in D5

Both the Gibraltar and Sevastopol boys basketball teams will be on the road Feb. 27 when they open their respective WIAA Division 5 regional tournaments with quarterfinal games.

The No. 12-seeded Vikings play at No. 5-seeded Florence. The winner will advance to the March 1 semifinal game against the winner between No. 4-seeded Niagara and No. 13-seeded Lena, with the highest remaining seed hosting the game.

The No. 14-seeded Pioneers play their quarterfinal game at No. 3-seeded Gillett. The winner will advance to the March 1 semifinal game against the winner between No. 6-seeded Oneida Nation and No. 11-seeded Wausaukee.

For Gibraltar and Sevastopol to be able to face each other in the postseason, each team would have to win its respective regional championship game set for March 2, so that they would face each other in the sectional semifinal set for March 7 in Pulaski.
