The Rahr-West Art Museum in Manitowoc will host “Visions of Water,” an exhibit featuring the Water’s Edge Artists (WEA), Sept. 29 – Nov. 4. The opening reception takes place on Oct. 7, 1 – 4 pm, and WEA Artistic Director Bonnita Budysz will present a live painting demonstration on Nov. 3 and 4.

Calling themselves “painters for preservation,” the regional plein air artists collaborate with the non-profit Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership sharing proceeds from LNRP/WEA events and exhibits.

“Visions of Water” features the juried selections for the 2013 Lakeshore Waterways Calendar along with 20 additional pieces chosen by the artists. Artists selected include Madonna Siles and Karen DeNoto of Door County.

Budysz said, “Our group of artists continues to grow and expand with venues and painting opportunities, as well as in numbers. We meet at least monthly throughout the year, the first Friday and Saturday of the month with our members and guests. We will be on Washington Island on October 5 and 6. Artists are welcome to join us for these activities.”

The Rahr-West Museum is located at 610 N. 8th Street in Manitowoc.
