Volunteers Recognized at Neighbor to Neighbor Annual Meeting

Neighbor to Neighbor celebrated their achievements at the annual meeting and community social at the Sturgeon Bay Library on Nov. 28. In 2016, 1,582 individuals benefitted from services provided by Neighbor to Neighbor. Door County residents saved more than $400,000 in medical expenses by using the organization’s services. Also in 2016, 103 volunteers donated 3,273.25 hours to facilitate medical equipment loans, serve as peer companions and/or respite care providers to homebound or isolated individuals, staff the office, serve on the board of directors, and assist with special events.

Two awards were presented. The Versatile Volunteer Award was presented and the recipient asked to remain anonymous. “A Lifetime of Service Award” was awarded to Donna Peterson, who has volunteered for more than 25 years and continues to do so. For more information call 920.743.7800.
