Visit Door County in all its autumn glory and enjoy what local business and organizations have to offer, from evening tours of a historic lighthouse to a red hot iron pour and of course, Egg Harbor’s annual Pumpkin Patch.

Friday, October 9

The Water Street Hot Shots

Evening Tours of Eagle Bluff Lighthouse

For two weekends in October, the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse Museum invites guests to step back in time and revel in the tales of past keepers through story, song and poetry. 6:30-8 pm.

Michael Ammons & The Water Street Hot Shots at The Cookery

Drawing from acoustic music styles of the 1920’s and 30’s, The Hot Shots’ repertoire includes old-time blues, ragtime, novelty and “hokum” party music. Catch the hard working traditional blues string band live at The Cookery. 7 pm.

Saturday, October 10

PenArt Iron Pour

Run Wild at Potawatomi State Park

Kick off your Saturday with a quarter-marathon, 5k or 1/3-mile Smokey Bear Run (for kids) at Potawatomi State Park in Sturgeon Bay. To register, find Run Wild on Facebook. 9:30 am.

Pumpkin Patch Festival in Egg Harbor

Enjoy an “all things pumpkin” festival in Egg Harbor, with Carnival rides, arts and crafts vendors, silent auction, live music, scarecrow and pumpkin displays, food, refreshments and more. All day.

Townline Art Fair at Fine Line Designs

The lawn at Fine Line Designs Gallery will be filled with art and artisans as the gallery hosts the 42nd annual Townline Art Fair on Oct. 10-11. More than 60 artists representing all media are scheduled to exhibit during the two-day show held rain or shine. 10 am – 5 pm.

Iron Pour at Peninsula School of Art

All ages are invited to participate in the festivities of the sixth annual Iron Pour Benefit at Peninsula School of Art. For a donation of $15, each person may create a 5”x5” iron tile by scratching into a preformed, sand-and-resin mold using simple tools. At dusk, the dramatic pour of white-hot, molten iron begins, continuing until all the tiles are poured. 4 – 8 pm.

Sunday, October 11

Meet the Artist at Angela Lensch Gallery

Just in time for the cool weather, Kathy Sander’s from Kathy’s Knits will be here with an outstanding collection of hand knit hats, scarves and mittens. 10 am – 5 pm.

Upland Hike at Appel’s Bluff

Take in the fall colors during a moderately easy hike on Appel’s Bluff, a newly acquired property that features ledges, a hardwood forest, open fields and opportunities to see a variety of habitats. 1 pm.

Chambers Island Lighthouse

Fall Lighthouse Festival

Celebrate Columbus Day with Door County Maritime Museum during its first Fall Lighthouse Festival. An abbreviated version of the popular Lighthouse Festival in June, the Door County Maritime Museum is offering a couple of its most popular tours Columbus Day weekend, including the Chambers Island tour and the Sail Door County Schooner Cruise.
