What To Do In Door County This Weekend: Feb. 20-22

Friday

“Murder by the Book” Stage Reading: Crossroads at Big Creek will host Rogue Theater’s stage reading of a fascinating script filled with famous literary references, poetic twists and turns, and a shocking conclusion. The event begins at 7 pm.

Travelogue Film Season: The Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs of northern Door resume their Travelogue film season with a journey to China. The show is titled “China Rising” and will highlight the contrasts between old and new, ancient and modern. Award-winning veteran filmmaker, writer, director and producer Dale Johnson will present the show. Showtime is 7:30 pm.

In The Round: Ministry Door County Medical Center will continue its free Music Heals concert series with pat mAcdonald, Corey Carlson and Dorothy Scott. When it comes to defining this upcoming concert, more than a few words come to mind: edgy, alternative, playful, awe-inspiring, mesmerizing, unique styles, passionate, daring, and uncompromising.

Saturday

Shake the Ice Winter Bash:  Wifee & the Huzzband release their new CD and play 50s and 60s Motown rock and funk. They’re joined by Purgatory Hill, Adam Mackintosh and The Last Dancers. Stone Harbor Resort. 8:30 pm.

Spring Bird Song Primer: Join the staff of Peninsula State Park at the Nature Center at 1 pm to get ready for spring by learning to recognize common park birds by their songs.

Opening Reception: The Meadows Art Gallery in Sister Bay will hold an opening reception for “Scandia Village, Family and Friends” (its newest exhibit featuring artists with a connection to the Scandia Village) from 2 – 4 pm.

Sunday

Egg Harbor Historical Society Program: This weekend’s program is “The Kewaunee House and Historic Sites a Stone’s Throw Away – 1850s-1950s” and will begin at 3 pm at Shipwrecked Brew, Pub & Inn.
