What to do in Door County this Weekend: Feb. 6-8

This coming weekend will be a celebration of winter in Door County with Baileys Harbor’s Winter Carnival and Fish Creek’s Winter Festival, both taking place Feb. 6-8. Each event offers a variety of entertainment sure to help you build some great winter memories:

1. Corky Siegel and Howard Levy at Door County Fire Company: Two of Chicago’s most celebrated musicians come together for the MDCMC Music Heals concert, which begins at 7 pm on Friday, Feb. 6.

2. Baileys Harbor Winter Carnival: Pond hockey, snow radar runs, waffles and retro haircuts are just part of the fun of this second annual event. The carnival will take place on Kangaroo Lake though many events will be held off the ice as well. Feb. 6 – 8.

3. Fish Creek Winter Festival: Ice sculpture carving, a kickball tournament, live fire demonstration and a chili-cook off are part of the schedule of events for Fish Creek’s 28th annual celebration. Feb. 6 – 8.

4. Cinderella: Sturgeon Bay High School students will perform “Cinderella” at 7pm on Friday, Feb. 6 and Saturday, Feb. 7. Tickets are $10/adult and $5/student.

5. Valentine Art Show: Plum Bottom Gallery welcomes individuals to enjoy a glass of wine while browsing the latest art from more than 30 nationally collected artists during its Valentine Art Show, 10am – 4pm Saturday, Feb. 7.

6. “Slings and Arrows” at Door County Brewing Company: A live storytelling event inspired by love and love lost, true love and evil exes. Nothing is off limits for this collaboration between Door Shakespeare and Write On, Door County. The event kicks off at 1 pm on Sunday, Feb. 8 at Door County Brewing Co.
