Woods Walk at Peninsula State Park

With Sandhill Cranes back and Goldeneye Ducks migrating through the county, spring is a great time to join the park naturalist on a woods walk at Peninsula State Park. On April 18, visitors can hike the Connector to Lone Pine Trails with a naturalist to see if bulblet and maidenhair ferns are emerging at the black ash swamp and to look for early hepatica flowers, too. This outdoor adventure will cover about two miles of rolling trails. Meet at the Nature Center at 1 pm. The hike is free and open to the public but a state park admission sticker is needed for entrance to the park. For more information call 920.868.3258. The Nature Center will be open from 10 am to 1 pm on April 18, and from noon to 3 pm on April 19.
