Write On Hosts 10th-Anniversary Gala

Write On, Door County is celebrating 10 years of carrying out its mission during its annual Fall Gala: a special event featuring author Faith Adiele, who was the Peninsula Pulse’s 2021 Hal Prize nonfiction judge.

The Oct. 26 gala at the Kress Pavilion, 7845 Church St. in Egg Harbor, will begin with cocktails at 5:30 pm. Dinner by Thyme Catering, starting at 6:30 pm, will include a choice of three entrées; and Adiele will give her keynote address at 7:30 pm. A self-described “typical Nigerian, Nordic, American girl,” Adiele is an award-winning memoirist, teacher, traveler and Buddhist nun whose love of storytelling is evident in each tale she weaves.

Additional gala highlights will be a wine-pull–style auction, during which guests can select bottles of wine whose labels are hidden; and an art auction that includes a framed photograph of Norbert Blei’s Coop by Kevin O’Donnell and original watercolors by Norbert Blei.

Tickets are $125 through Sept. 30; the price increases to $150 on Oct. 1. Find out more and purchase tickets at writeondoorcounty.org.
