Write On Hosts 10th-Anniversary Gala

Write On, Door County is celebrating 10 years of carrying out its mission during its annual Fall Gala on Oct. 26 – a special event featuring author Faith Adiele, who was the Peninsula Pulse’s 2021 Hal Prize nonfiction judge.

The gala at the Kress Pavillion in Egg Harbor will begin with cocktails at 5:30 pm. Dinner from Thyme Catering, starting at 6:30 pm, will include your choice of three entrées, and Adiele will give her keynote address at 7:30 pm. A self-described “typical Nigerian, Nordic, American girl,” Adiele is an award-winning memoirist, teacher, traveler and even a Buddhist nun whose love of storytelling is evident in each tale she weaves.

Additional gala highlights will be a wine-pull–style auction, in which guests can select bottles of wine whose labels are hidden; and an art auction that includes a framed photograph of Norbert Blei’s Coop by Kevin O’Donnell and original watercolors by Norbert Blei.

Tickets are $125 through Aug. 31; the price increases to $150 on Sept. 1. Find out more and purchase tickets at writeondoorcounty.org.
