The Savory Spoon Cooking School at 12042 Hwy 42 in Ellison Bay is on a mission to teach young people, ages seven through 13, about the joy of food, the value of cooking and the benefits of learning a lifelong skill through interactive cooking classes. Children ignite their creativity and satisfy their natural curiosity while visiting the Hidden Acres Farm to pick the fresh produce they use in their recipes.
Class instructor Jane Tomich has retired from 30-plus years of teaching in private and public schools and has recently been studying in the plant-science program at the Boerner Botanical Garden in Hales Corners, Wisconsin.
