10 String Symphony Closes Out White Gull Winter Concert Series

The Nashville-based duo 10 String Symphony will perform at the White Gull Inn in Fish Creek on April 6.

10 String Symphony consists of Rachel Baiman (fiddle, banjo, vocals) and Christian Sedelmyer (mandolin, fiddle, vocals). It began as a partnership of mutual admiration, a creative release valve for Baiman and Sedelmyer, two five-string fiddle players and veteran sidemen of Nashville’s music scene. Baiman is a former Illinois state fiddle champion in the old time tradition, while Christian, originally a classically trained violinist, is also a current touring member of the Jerry Douglas Band. With the love of the five-string fiddle and its musical possibilities as its focal point, the band’s mission statement is as clear as it is expansive: two fiddles, two voices, epic music.

An optional fixed price dinner will be served at 6 pm. The menu consists of chicken Marsala over linguine; garlic focaccia; a tossed green salad and dessert. Tickets for the 8 pm concert, the last in the inn’s 2015-2016 winter concert series, are $17. For tickets and reservations, call 920.868.3517.
