36th Juried Annual Exhibit Award Winners

The Miller Art Museum 36th Juried Annual Exhibition is the result of the annual competition among two-dimensional artists from northeast Wisconsin with 43 pieces in watercolor, photography, oil, pastel and mixed media works created by 40 artists. The exhibit will continue through November 8.

A Museum Talk and Review of the Juried Exhibit by Sister Bay artist and teacher Craig Blietz will take place in the museum October 13 at 10:30 am. Blietz has a vast teaching and exhibition resume. He is represented by galleries in Utah, Wyoming, Michigan and Edgewood Orchard Galleries in Fish Creek. He is currently the Artistic Director at the Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art in Algoma. All are welcome to attend; the doors will open at 10 am for coffee and a chance to view the exhibit before the talk.

2011 Jurors included artist/teachers Ed Fenendael of Baileys Harbor and Bonnie Paruch of Sister Bay, and artist Marilyn Stasiak of De Pere. There is no designated theme to the Miller’s Juried Annual, so each year the subject matter is widely varied, and 2011 is no exception.

This year’s Juried Annual is sponsored by Baylake Bank, DC Printing, LLC, and the Townsend Foundation. The museum, open 10 am – 8 pm on Monday and 10 am – 5 pm, Tuesday – Saturday, is located within the Door County Library at 107 S. Fourth Avenue, Sturgeon Bay. The Miller is fully accessible and admission is free. For more information call 920.746.0707 or view http://www.millerartmuseum.org.
