Children’s Theater Camp Performance

The students in Rogue Theater’s Children’s Theater Camp present The Adventures of Peter and the Wolf by Sheila Smolensky on July 14.

In this play, Young Peter has devised a plan to capture the fearsome wolf, who has escaped from the zoo to raid villagers’ homes. Apparently the wolf has a rather large “sweet tooth” or teeth, in this case. Despite warnings from Grandma, Peter enlists the help of his two friends, Sonia and Bronia, and they set their plan in motion; aided by Peter’s animal friends, Natasha, a vain bird; Olga, a practical duck; Pavlov, a lovable dog; and Catrina, a sly cat.

Director Lola DeVillers has worked with the students to not only develop their theatre arts skills, but also to increase their creativity. The students in this year’s camp range in age from 9 to 15 and come from Door County. Students have worked on scripts, set design, costumes and props.

The cast includes Zeno McCarthy as Peter and Ben Roman as the Wolf. Grandma is Briana Barganz. Peter’s friends include Kalei Klaubauf, Jillian Vogel, Hannah Benson, Grace Rockwell, Ellie Propsom, Gigi Roman and Leathem Vogel. The Hunters are Addison Kluge, Kaitlyn Kluge, Siri Fittshur and Kaylee Bell.

Together they will present a public performance July 14, 2 pm at Jaycee Hall, 340 Jaycee Ct. in Sturgeon Bay. Admission is free, with a suggested $5 donation at the door. For information call Rogue Theater at 920.818.0816 or email [email protected].
