City seeks name for creek

• The Sturgeon Bay Parks and Recreation Department is seeking ideas for a name for the creek that runs through Woodside Park across from Sawyer School. Submit your creek name idea by mail to the City of Sturgeon Bay, Parks and Recreation Department, 835 N. 14th Ave., Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 or email [email protected]. Submissions will be accepted through June 24.

• The Village of Egg Harbor is partnering with the Door County YMCA to bring a sailing camp program to the Egg Harbor beach this summer. The intro to sailing program will run mornings from July 11 to Aug. 5 emphasizing safety, fun, and education. Participants will learn to sail on 14-foot X-boats owned by the village, funded in large part by private donations. YMCA members and village residents can sign up for $225, while the cost to the general public is $290. The YMCA will make scholarships available through its Strong Kids Campaign. • Sister Bay will dedicate the latest addition to its Waterfront Park and expanded village marina Saturday, June 18, at 11 am. The ceremony will be held on the new boardwalk across the street from Casperson’s Funeral Home at 10708 N. Bay Shore Dr. (Hwy 42).
