  • Southern Door High School Hosts Solo & Ensemble Festival

    Students from area schools will participate in a Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) sanctioned District Solo & Ensemble Music Festival hosted at Southern Door High School on March 21.

    The Sister Bay & Liberty Grove Fire Department is partnering with the American Safety & Health Institute to offer classes to educate the community in the proper method of using an AED and performing CPR, as well as basic first aid.

    Ministry Door County Medical Center is happy to announce the spring session of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program will begin April 7. This popular eight-week program, led by Barbara Wulf, cultivates the practice of mindfulness meditation.

    The 8th Annual R.A.C.E. (Racing Annual Charity Event) and Car Show to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and local veteran organizations will be held Saturday, April 11, from 11 am to 5 pm at the Draft Haus, Sturgeon Bay.

  • Grant to Benefit Backpack Buddy Program

    Feed and Clothe My People was pleased to accept $3,000 in grant money from The Roundy Foundation. The money will be used by the Backpack Buddy Program.

  • Cast Vote for the Ice Out Competition

    Cast your votes for the 77th annual Ice Out Contest in Sister Bay. In 2014, the Ice Out raft started floating at 10:28 am on April 28, when will it be this year? Businesses around Northern Door host a voting box – where voters fill out a slip of paper with their name, phone number and the date and time of day they believe the ice will “go out” of the bay in the early spring.

  • Announcing the St. Patrick’s Parade Winners

    The 17th annual Sturgeon Bay St. Patrick’s Day Parade took place March 14 at 11 am with 30 participating businesses and organizations. The award for Best Business Entry was received by Door County Hardware.

    Marion L. Halstead, better known as Marion the barbarian, of Jacksonport died on March 8, 2015, at the age of 60 after a brief fight with cancer.

  • Lighthouse Festival Tickets on Sale March 16

    Tickets to the much-anticipated Lighthouse Festival that gives visitors access to lighthouses that aren’t typically open to the public, including Chambers Island, Plum Island, Sherwood Point and the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal Lighthouses, go on sale this month.

  • 4-H Scrap Metal Drive

    Help make a difference in the community and get a jump start on spring cleanup by participating in the Door County 4-H Scrap Metal Drive. Scheduled for Saturday, March 28, from 7 am to noon, you can bring scrap metal items to the Door County Waste and Recycling Center, 1509 Division Road, Sturgeon Bay for donation.
