Door Community Auditorium Goes “Down Under”

The Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will go “down under” with a lecture by didgeridoo musician Brian Pertl and a screening of Rabbit-Proof Fence.

Following a Friday night Coffeehouse Concert (see Live Music Section), Pertl will present “The Role of the Didgeridoo in Australian Aboriginal Society” on Feb. 18 at 9 am. Pertl will use demonstration and audience participation to explore the integral role of the didgeridoo in aboriginal society. The lecture is free to the public. Refreshments from Base Camp Coffee Shop will be available for purchase.

At 7 pm, DCA will present a free screening of the 2002 film Rabbit-Proof Fence, the story of three girls from aboriginal and white parents who flee Western Australia. The film is rated PG.
