“Doorways: Creating Theatre for Children” Holds August Classes

Door Shakespeare’s education program, “Doorways: Creating Theatre for Children,” will hold classes August 4 – 7 at Bjِrklunden in Baileys Harbor. Grades 1 – 3 will meet from 10 am – 12:30 pm and grades 4 – 6 will meet from 1 – 3:30 pm. The junior high and high school session meets from 10 am – 3:30 pm on August 7 and will focus on improvisation as well as the skills needed to perform Shakespeare.

The goal of Doorways is to create a vibrant group of unique individuals and explore the power of creativity through developing original theatre. Students will play traditional theatre games, explore improvisation, and participate in acting exercises. These classes will also use creative writing as a means for generating original performance material.

The workshops will be led by Door Shakespeare actress and Doorways founder Jennefer Ludwigsen. Call Ludwigsen at 206.755.7375 for more information or the Door Shakespeare office at 920.839.1500 to register.

Doorways is also offering a series of classes for seniors at Scandia Village, led by Door Shakespeare’s Suzanne Graff.
