DOT Hosts Informational Session for Sturgeon Bay to Egg Harbor Highway 42 Construction

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will host a construction information session Tuesday for residents and businesses who own property within the upcoming Highway 42 work zone between Sturgeon Bay and Egg Harbor.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 19 at 1:30 pm at the Sevastopol Town Hall, located at 4528 Highway 57 in Institute. There is not a virtual option to attend the meeting.

Northeast Asphalt will present and discuss the proposed schedule of work, traffic staging and impacts, and vehicular access during construction operations.

The purpose of the project is to address deteriorating pavement and culverts, and to address maintenance issues and safety concerns at the Monument Point Road intersection. The project covers 12.1 miles of Highway 42, beginning approximately 0.1 miles north of the Hwy 42/57 split and ending at Rainbow Ridge Court, just south of the Village of Egg Harbor. The project will then continue from Rainbow Ridge Road to Bluff Road in Fish Creek. Construction is anticipated to begin on April 1, 2024 and finish in mid-to-late June.

This project is separate from the Village of Egg Harbor’s current downtown construction project.

Visit the project website to view maps of the project location, description of proposed work, description of traffic impacts, and WisDOT contact information.
