Ephraim Yacht Club’s Adult Course Offerings

The Ephraim Yacht Club (EYC) is offering beginner adult sailing lessons in several formats.

“As one of the largest sailing schools in the Midwest, we teach over 200 juniors how to sail every summer at the EYC,” said EYC Commodore Jay Lott. “But the EYC also offers multiple ways for adults who are interested in sailing to ‘get their feet wet’ in an adults-only environment which is fun and social.”

All lessons are taught by the EYC’s staff of professional instructors, each certified by U.S. Sailing. Students are required to be at least 18 years old, to know how to swim, and to have their own properly fitting life jacket. All other equipment is supplied by the EYC. Lessons will be taught in the EYC’s fleet of eight Flying Scot sailboats, which are simple and stable.

One class option is to meet once a week for three hours on Thursdays. Students can sign up for four weeks (beginning June 28 or July 26) or eight weeks (beginning June 28). Tuition is $130 for four weeks or $260 for eight weeks.

Another option offered is a weeklong class that meets Monday through Friday afternoons for three hours. Weeklong classes are offered every week beginning June 11 through August 17. Tuition is $162.50.
