National touring Atlanta, GA band Outformation will help Mark McClellan and Amy Lucket celebrate three years owning the Hitching Post tavern in Valmy Sept. 12.

“This is definitely one of the biggest bands we’ve had here,” McClellan said.

The band plays at 10 pm, but the festivities kick off with a BBQ and reverie throughout the evening.

Outformation will stop in Valmy between dates in North Dakota and Chicago as they continue their non-stop touring that has taken them all over the country. The rising jam band has appeared at Bonnaroo, South by Southwest, Hi Sierra Music Festival, Magnoliafest, and Wakarusa and have opened for such acts as Widespread Panic, Shooter Jennings, and Umphrey’s McGee recently.

Mature and focused on their music, Outformation has a steadily growing national fan base and is sure to build on it in Door County. Their success is owed in large part to the skills of guitarist Sam Holt, formerly of Widespread Panic, and to a songwriting styles fusing great lyrics, jams, and a healthy dose of southern rock sound.

The Hitching Post is home to some of the area’s best live music and plays host to an open mic with the Raddatz family every Thursday night at 10:30 pm.
