Hardy Gallery Announces Juried Exhibit Winners

The Hardy Gallery announces the award winners of the 56th Annual Juried Exhibit. Out of 159 works of art submitted into the Wall-to-Wall exhibit, 79 pieces were chosen for the Annual Juried Exhibit. This year four individual artists were awarded financial merit awards for outstanding work, including first, second, third and People’s Choice Awards. In addition, three artists were awarded a Juror Award for excellence, selected independently by each judge.

The winning artists are:  First – D.K. Palecek’s “Proud;” Second – Jack Pachuta’s “Tango;” Third – Dannica Walker’s “Sunday;” and People’s Choice Award – Fred Bridenhagen’s “Tried & True.”

The 2018 jurors, Deanna Clayton, Lee Mothes and Tori Tasch, selected the following artists for the Juror Awards:  “HMS Howard 1913” by John Whitney, “Sturgeon Bay Shipyards” by Brian Pier and “Rural Door County” by Rebecca Bodmer.

Clayton said of the jurying process, “It was a pleasure to look at each and every artwork. I was so impressed with all the creative minds around me. It actually enabled me see the thread that creates this amazing community we live in.”

The 56th Annual Juried exhibit on view until July 15, 3 pm. Admission to the gallery is free. The Hardy Gallery is located in the heart of Ephraim’s historic district on Anderson Dock (3083 Anderson Lane). For more information visit thehardy.org.
