Julie Davis Named Next CEO for Boys and Girls Club of Door County

The Boys and Girls Club of Door County has found its next leader, and hired Julie Davis as their next CEO. Davis has worked with the organization for the last two and a half years, beginning as a program director and was most recently director of operations.

“Julie has been a part of setting the strategic direction of this organization since we got things rolling. She is the right choice to keep things moving forward and will ensure that the Club continues to make an impact in this community,” said outgoing CEO Heather Powell.

The executive committee met after learning of the pending vacancy and decided to take a look at current staff first as they began their executive search.

“Our club has an enthusiastic and dedicated staff and the board determined that the best person to lead the organization was already working for the organization. During the interview Julie confirmed what we already knew; she is passionate about the mission of the club and we are confident that our organization will continue its forward momentum under her leadership,” said board president Inge Bacon.

Davis will begin her post effective Oct. 25. Along with learning the ins and outs of her new role, she will train her replacement, the club’s new program director, J.J. Wirtanen.
