Lukes and Anderson to Lead Toft Point Hike July 20

Join the Climate Change Coalition (CCC) of Door County for “Toft Point: A Nature Lover’s Dream” – a guided hike through a pristine, old-growth forest in Baileys Harbor – on July 20, 10 am – 12 pm. Charlotte Lukes and Nick Anderson will lead the hike and share their deep knowledge of the forest and Toft Point’s exceptional plant communities.

Lukes and her late husband, naturalist Roy Lukes, founded the Friends of Toft Point, and she was on its founding board of directors. Anderson is a passionate Toft Point defender and Friends life member. Both are longtime trail docents.

The hike – limited to 15 people – is a fundraiser for the CCC that will conclude with a picnic lunch. The cost is $50 per person. To register, call 715.330.4660 or email [email protected]. Meet at 9:45 am at The Ridges’ beach parking lot, 2301 Ridges Road in Baileys Harbor. Lukes and Anderson will offer this hike again on Aug. 27.
