Obituary: Norman M. Frando

June 30, 1926 ~ December 24, 2021

Norman Frando, 95, of Sturgeon Bay, died on December 24, 2021, at the Pete & Jelaine Horton Skilled Nursing Facility in Sturgeon Bay.  He was born on June 30, 1926, in Door County to Michael and Katherine (Bink) Frando.  On November 5, 1955, he married Elizabeth Vanden Bogart in Sturgeon Bay.  She preceded him in death on March 11, 2013.

Norman served his country in the U.S. Army.  He farmed in Nasewaupee and worked as a shipfitter at Bay Ship Building.  Norman was a modest, hard-working man.

Survivors include one son, Ronald (Mary) Frando, Sturgeon Bay; three grandchildren, Shannon (Bobby) Henderson, Amy Frando, and Brian Frando; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother, Jerome (Loretta) Frando; two sisters, Katherine (Merle) Atkinson, and Leona (Paul) Riederer.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2021, at Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood with Rev. Anthony Birdsall officiating.  Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Forbes Funeral Home and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Friday.  A prayer service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
