Pioneers Set School Record in Girls Hoops Wins

Sevastopol’s girls basketball team won its 11th game in a row Tuesday and in the process set a school record for the most wins in a season at 19 with a 54-20 Packerland Conference victory at Gibraltar.
With four regular-season games left before tournament time, the Pioneers eclipsed the school-record number of victories set last season when Sevastopol went 18-8 overall.
Naomi Rikkola led the Pioneers with a game-high 21 points. Bailey Rikkola added 13 points.
Andie Schar was the only Viking player to score in double figures with 10 points.
Sevastopol, which improved to 12-0 in the conference and 19-1 overall, hosts a league game Friday against Kewaunee.
Gibraltar (1-12, 2-18) plays a conference game Friday at Southern Door.
Eagles Fly Past Wolves in Second Half
Southern Door’s girls basketball team overcame a three-point halftime deficit Tuesday and went on to win its Packerland Conference contest at Algoma, 47-40.
Allianna Dufek led the Eagles with 14 points. Payton Gilbertson added 13 points.
Southern Door (6-7, 11-10) next hosts Gibraltar on Friday.
