TAP Opens Renovated Theater with Gutenberg! The Musical!

Third Avenue Playhouse (TAP) will present Gutenberg! The Musical! in its newly renovated Kane Theatre Oct. 7-31, with a pay-what-you-can preview performance Oct. 6, 7:30 pm. 

In this two-person musical spoof, aspiring playwrights perform a backers’ audition for their new project: a big, splashy musical about printing-press inventor Johann Gutenberg.

Robert Boles directs Doug Mancheski as Bud Davenport and Chad Luberger as Doug Simon as they perform more than three dozen songs and play 30-plus roles using limited props and costuming. Ryan Cappleman plays Charles, their very patient musical director.

Performances are Tuesday – Saturday, 7:30 pm; and Sunday, 2 pm. Purchase tickets – $35 per adult and $20 per student – by calling 920.743.1760 starting Aug. 16.
