Thrills and Chills Are Coming

Enjoy family-friendly Halloween activities throughout downtown Sturgeon Bay at this year’s Thrills and Chills event, Oct. 28.

A childrens’ costume parade will kick off the event at 10 am. Those who want to participate may meet at the old bell tower at Community Foundation Square (222 N 3rd Ave.) around 9:45 am.

The parade, led by the Sturgeon Bay Fire Department, will go down Third Avenue and end at Martin Park (207 S. 3rd Ave.) Prizes will be awarded for best costumes and families can enjoy inflatables and music at Martin Park until 1 pm.

Trick-or-treating along east and west waterfront businesses will start after the parade and end at 1 pm. Participating businesses will display a Thrills and Chills window decal.

At 11 am – 2:30 pm, the Boys & Girls Club of Door County (55 S. Third Ave.) will host a haunted house and a Grills for Thrills Fundraiser, where burgers, hot dogs and other refreshments will be sold to raise money for club programming.

Starting at 11 am, kids can catch a Halloween movie and make a craft at the Door County Library, 107 S. Fourth Ave.

At Bay Shore Outfitters, 59 N Madison Ave., visitors can drop in to carve pumpkins 11 am – 4 pm.

At Kitty O’Reillys Irish Pub, 59 E Oak St., a kids’ costume dance party will take place 1 pm – 3 pm.

Participants can also stop by the Destination Sturgeon Bay Welcome Center at 36 S. 3rd Ave. to pick up a Spook-tacular Sturgeon Bay Scavenger Hunt map, anytime before Oct. 31. Completed maps may be dropped off for a chance to win a prize.
