Wendi Ray to Run Olympic Trials Saturday

Ellison Bay’s Wendi Ray will join 222 other women running the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials Saturday in Houston. Ray, a veteran of the trials, qualified with the 46th best time in the field, clocking in at 2:39:15 at the 2010 New York Marathon. That was good enough for 6th place among American women in the race.

Shalane Flanagan of Oregon is considered one of the favorites at the trials, which airs Saturday at 2pm on NBC. To follow the race in real time online (the women start at 8:15am) click here.
