Wild Tomato Hosts Open Door Bird Sanctuary for Fundraiser

On Friday, June 23, Wild Tomato invites guests to meet some of Open Door Bird Sanctuary’s residents in an event that combines pizza and birds for a great cause. As part of their Donation Creation initiative, Wild Tomato features Open Door Bird Sanctuary as their June beneficiary. The program, started in 2007, donates $1 of every pizza sold to a monthly featured nonprofit. Since their opening, the Donation Creation has raised more than $20,000 for local organizations. The partnership with ODBS comes in conjunction with the Jacksonport facility’s June 24 Summer opening. The permanent home for hawks, owls, falcons and a vulture, ODBS combines learning and fun with its onsite and outreach educational programs. To highlight the partnership and kick off the season, everyone is welcomed to visit Wild Tomato Fish Creek and meet some of the staff and resident raptors of ODBS. Koko the Saw Whet Owl, Sir Percival the Merlin, Radar the Barred Owl, and Aisling the Eurasian Eagle Owl are all likely to make an appearance during their visit, beginning at 4 pm.
