Youth Artwork Highlight of Upcoming Link Exhibit

On Thursday, May 29 from 3:30 – 6 pm the Francis Hardy Center for the Arts will host an open house for an exhibit in conjunction with it’s Exposure To Creativity (ETC) program at the Link Gallery in the Door Community Auditorium. At the open reception attendees will have the opportunity to see the students’ accomplishments – including artwork completed and in-progress – in all facets of the ETC program.

The FHCA’s Exposure to Creativity (ETC) arts mentorship component uses arts education to create a spark that lights the imagination and creativity of the youth in our community. Through a partnership with Gibraltar Area Schools and Friends of Gibraltar (FOG) the FHCA is able to reach out to young people ages 14 to 18 years old and expose them to painting, music, dance, fashion, theater, graphics and other creative professions.

The exhibit will be comprised of artwork completed in both the workshop and mentor components of the program, which includes work in the literary, visual, and performing arts. The exhibit will also highlight general program information along with photographs taken in this, the first year, of the program.

The exhibit is open free to the public and will be on display from May 29 to June 11 at the Link Gallery.

ETC has been supported by private donors and in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the state of Wisconsin. For more information call 920.854.2210, email [email protected] or visit http://www.thehardy.org.
