Calligraphy and Acrylics Created during Artists Guild Classes

Youth classes at Artists Guild for July 19 are focused on Magnified Flowers/Georgia O’Keefe for the younger classes and Thaumatropes/3-D Hands for teens.

Youth classes are held every Friday in the summer from 9:30 – 11 am (ages 5 – 8), 12 – 2 pm (ages 9 – 12), and 3 – 5 pm (ages 13 – 18). Cost is $25 per student for the morning class and $30 for the afternoon classes, including all materials.

All About Acrylics is the subject for the July 13 session of Art Fundamentals from 10 am – noon. Bradley will give participants a working foundation in the medium and guide them through creating a painting of their own. The cost is $30 and includes all materials.

Wine Glass Painting is the theme for the July 16, 10 am – noon, session of Tuesdays with Jen Aldrich at Artists Guild in Sturgeon Bay, held 10 am – noon. The cost is $25 and includes all materials.

Oil Painting with Lynn Gilchrist is scheduled for July 17, 9 – 11:30 am. Gilchrist share her palette range, techniques and favorite materials. Students should bring their own materials and have a basic knowledge of oils. The cost is $60.

“Urban Art: Why is it Important to a Community?” is the subject for the July 20 Art Speak series. Adjunct professor of Art History Jen Aldrich looks at how graffiti and community art projects can help revive a community from decay and decline. This program is free and open to the public.
