Gibraltar’s DECA Team Wins Multiple Awards at State Conference

Six Gibraltar DECA members attended the State Career Development Conference March 8-10 in Lake Geneva. Gibraltar DECA earned Community Service and Acts of Kindness awards for their projects that benefit the GO BO Foundation and DOOR CANcer, Inc. The team of Bradley Prust and Derek Beard earned medals in the Financial Services Team role play event and placed in the top 10 statewide overall in the series. In addition, their School-Based Enterprise written event earned Gold Certification. Beard and Prust documented 12 national entrepreneurship standards that are practiced in GBAY, the DECA school store. Jon Kordon earned a medal in his role play event in Restaurant Management. Adviser Mary Witteborg was also awarded the State DECA Professional Achievement Award for her 27 years of serving local, district and state DECA.
