On Saturday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 pm, the Door County Auditorium in Fish Creek will host a free concert entitled, “A Celebration of Community.” The concert, sponsored by Ministry Door County Medical Center (MDCMC), will feature three international touring musicians, along with a lineup of Door County musicians.

Sturgeon Bay’s famed Holiday Motel will once again host its annual “Dark Songs,” a week of collaborative songwriting, recording, and performances. Over 20 musicians will converge at the Holiday Motel to write music that will be debuted in two live performances over the Halloween weekend.

Local band Toivo will perform their 4th annual Halloween Show at the Bayside Tavern in Fish Creek on Sat., Oct. 30 from 10:30 pm – 2 am. The show will open with a special performance by The Snowbirds.

5. It might be your ticket to appear on “Wheel of Fortune.” That’s right, getting a group dance started at an audition can help you become selected as a contestant for the national television game show.

Halloween is a great excuse for adults to dress up and act like kids again. Door County is filled with spook-tacular adventures and if one day’s not enough don’t worry because there will be costume parties all weekend long.

With the assistance of the jukebox, anyone can change the mood of a room with just a handful of quarters.

1. A bar used to be defined by its jukebox. Fill it with the right mix, and you could be assured of a certain mood, with songs that would spur conversations.

On October 16, the Fairland Bluegrass family band will perform during the Baileys Harbor Scouts’ Canned Food Drive. The drive will take place at the Baileys Harbor Village Hall from 7 – 9 pm, doors will open at 6:30 pm.

The Institute Saloon Dance Hall will host the annual Polka Fest on Sunday, October 31 from 1 – 4:30 pm. The event will feature the sounds of the button box accordion and concertina playing polkas, waltzes, the foxtrot, and schottische.

On Sunday, Oct. 24, come in from the cold for a morning of hot cider, warm sweaters, and cool music as Ecology Sports/Base Camp Coffee Shop celebrates its second annual Katie Dahl Day.

After their introduction to the area by Kim Manning and Lantz Lazwell during Steel Bridge Song Fest 2010, Groove Session is eager to continue sharing their music and energy with the Door Peninsula.

On Friday, October 15 at 7 pm, the Southern Door Community Auditorium will feature the legendary blues band, Siegel-Schwall Band, for its first annual fundraiser.

The Cookery’s Wine Bar Music Series will continue throughout October. At 8 pm on Thursday nights, a great lineup of local artists will perform in the wine bar.

Miss Meaghan Owens will perform at The Fishing Hole on Friday, October 1 in promotion of the upcoming release of her second CD, Gun Shy Of A Kiss. The CD will be available exclusively at the show.

We are Beatrice, a Madison-based band, will play at the Mink River Basin on Friday, September 24 from 9 pm – midnight. The Mink River Basin is located at 12010 Highway 42 in Ellison Bay.

Celebrate halfway to Saint Patrick’s Day with Sheamus Fitzpatrick & The McNally Boys. Hailing from the Fox Valley, this Irish Pub band is sure to get you knee slapping and having a lot of good old-fashioned Irish fun.

Sturgeon Bay’s Jefferson Street businesses will be hosting their 4th Annual Jazz on Jefferson event on Saturday, September 11 from 1 – 8 pm. Live music by jazz quartet Open Interest featuring John Salerno will begin at 1 pm.
