Dear Mary Pat, As my siblings and I grow, marry, and have children the Christmas shopping lists are getting longer and longer. My budget is tight this year, but all my siblings have sent Christmas lists for their husbands, wives, and children – clothes, toys, books, jewelry! I’m overwhelmed.

“The Big Lebowski” Screening and Costume Contests at Sister Bay Bowl
Calling all “achievers!” Come watch the best bowling movie ever. The Big Lebowski will be shown Dec. 21 at the Sister Bay Bowl. Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm and the movie begins at 8 pm.

Greeting Card Bird of 2013 Announced at Crossroads
The annual Crossroads lecture “Greeting Card Birds” is scheduled for Dec. 24 at 2 pm. The lecture features the birds depicted on the greeting cards that the naturalist receives in 2013.

Inaugural Donna Winter Film Fest Begins Jan. 4
Beginning in 1949 with the showing of King Solomon’s Mines through its closing in 1990s, the Donna Theatre provided movies and memories for thousands of Door County residents and visitors.

Holiday Swing Dance Party at Red Oak Winery
Red Oak Winery is hosting a Holiday Swing Dance Party on Dec. 28 from 7 – 11 pm. To start the event, there will be an East Coast Swing Dance lesson from 7 – 8 pm instructed by professional instructors Kevin Delcarson and Andria Nikoupolis Weliky with an open dance to follow.

“It Had to be You” at The Depot PAC
Rogue Theater is reprising the comedy It Had to be You at The Depot Performing Arts Center in Sturgeon Bay. Directed by Renee Kufjowski and Bill Bauernfeind, the show stars Lola DeVillers as Theda Blau and Stuart Champeau as Vito Pignoli an ill-matched couple who ends up spending a snowy Christmas Eve Together.

Starting Jan. 10, Ministry Door County Medical Center (MDCMC) will feature a broad range of musical concerts throughout Door County featuring blues, jazz, folk and alternative music from national touring artists to help raise funds for the Healing Project.
