  • “School Days” at Door County Historical Museum

    Students and their teacher stand in front of Blossomburg School in Fish Creek in earlier times. The Door County Historical Museum will display School Days on August 20 and 21.

  • “Live-Saving” Exhibit Opens at Door County Maritime Museum

    The United States Life-Saving Service was responsible for saving over 177,000 lives during its 44-year existence. The exhibit “Sufficient for Life-Saving,” which is currently on display at the Door County Maritime Museum, chronicles the work of this organization.

  • YMCA Host Labor Day Run

    The YMCA’s 10th Annual Labor Day Weekend Run will take place on September 3. The annual 5k Run/Walk and half-mile children’s race will also have a duathlon for the fourth year in a row with a 2-mile run/12-mile bike/2-mile run.

  • Sturgeon Bay All-Stars Win Fastpitch Championship

    The Sturgeon Bay All-Stars won the championship at The 2nd Annual Carri Dickson Memorial 12U Girls Fastpitch Softball Tournament in Two Rivers held July 30 and 31.

  • Kwaterski Brings Red Jacket Home in Door County’s Red Putter Pro Tourney

    Nick Kwaterski of Sister Bay brought the Red Jacket home to Door County when he won the 10th Red Putter Pro Tournament Aug. 6. Kwaterski posted a three-round score of 105 to top 71 other competitors.

  • Door County Masters Swimmers Place in Appleton Meet

    Four Sturgeon Bay Masters Swimmers produced a total of 10 top-three finishes at the recent Badger State Games held in Appleton. Mike Ziniel and Bella Sandor placed first in three events each, with Sandor posting a National #1 time in the 100-meter breaststroke.

  • K/D Salmon Tournament Annouces Winners

    Jeff Bobula of Poplar, Wisconsin who fished with boat owner and friend Bryan Hannula of South Range in Douglas County won the top prize of $10,000 cash for the 43-inch, 32.02-pound Chinook he reeled in and registered at the 57 Depot in Baileys Harbor.

  • District Tourney Champs

    The 15-year-old Babe Ruth baseball team won the district tournament held in Sturgeon Bay from July 13 – 15. They advanced to the 15-year-old State Babe Ruth Tournament in Sauk Prairie, which took place July 20 – 23.

  • Church of Atonement in Door County Features Organ Recitals

    Kyle Ritter of the Cathedral of All Souls in Asheville, NC, and Eric Plutz of Princeton University will perform organ recitals at 5 and 7 pm on August 19 at the Church of the Atonement in Fish Creek.

  • Southern Door Hosts KIDS from Wisconsin

    The Southern Door Community Auditorium (SDCA) is excited to announce the KIDS from Wisconsin, the state’s official musical ambassadors, will make their only Door/Kewaunee County appearance on August 16 at 7 pm.

  • WPT to Film Birch Creek Performance in Door County

    In July 2010, Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) technical staff and production crew visited the Birch Creek campus near Egg Harbor. With Birch Creek Executive Director Kaye Wagner and Sound Engineer Travis Garrison as guides, WPT staff inspected, measured, photographed, and asked questions relative to Birch Creek’s historic performance barn, lighting and recording equipment, natural acoustics, students and concerts.

  • 1st Annual Luau at Door County’s The Lodge

    The Lodge at Leathem Smith will present its 1st Annual Luau on August 19. The evening will begin with a warm lei greeting and refreshing Mai Tai followed by traditional Polynesian dancers, music and entertainment.

    The Third Avenue Playhouse Board of Directors has announced that Executive Director Judy Drew is stepping down. Drew has been at TAP’s helm since 2004 and is leaving to accept a position with The Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor.
