Door County is renowned nationwide for it’s array of local, independent theater in settings unlike any other. There’s the historic Peninsula Players on the water, Northern Sky Theatre in the woods of Peninsula State Park, and Door Shakespeare in the gardens of Bjorklunden.   • “Guys on Ice” Television Premiere

    Northern Sky Theater, the new name of American Folklore Theatre, has officially announced the airdate for their television debut of Guys On Ice. The program premieres March 4 at 7 pm on Wisconsin Public Television’s (WPT) statewide network.

  • Peninsula Players presents reading of ‘Chapatti’

    On March 2, Peninsula Players Theatre will present a reading of Chapatti, a funny and gentle play centered on two animal lovers who meet in an unexpected way and rediscover the preciousness of human companionship.

  • Peninsula Players Theater Awarded Grant

    Peninsula Players Theatre is pleased to announce it was awarded a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board (WAB) through the WAB’s Creation & Presentation program.

  • Rogue Theater’s Murder by the Book

    Rogue Theater’s latest production is Murder by the Book by Craig Sodaro.  In the show, The Raven Society is holding its annual meeting to select the best mystery book of the year.

  • Third Avenue Playhouse Hosts Film Lab

    This winter from Feb. 4 – March 14 the Third Avenue Playhouse will host their first Film Lab. Students will have the opportunity to act, write, direct and operate the camera while creating original film projects and working on scenes from classic movies.

  • Added Audition Date for StageKids

    StageKids has added an audition date on Jan. 27 at 5 pm for the production of Our Town. Auditions will be for all students between the ages of 9 and 18.

  • Sturgeon Bay High School Presents Cinderella

    Sturgeon Bay High School’s annual musical for 2015 is Rogers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, to be presented Feb. 5, 6, and 7, at 7 pm and Feb. 8 at 3 pm.

  • StageKids Auditions and Film Lab

    Auditions will be held for the StageKids production of Our Town by Thornton Wilder and directed by Robert Boles on Jan. 16 at 5 pm and Jan. 17 at noon.

  • Third Avenue Playhouse’s James Valcq Awarded

    James Valcq, Third Avenue Playhouse’s co-artistic director, was honored at the Broadway World Milwaukee Theatre Awards. Valcq shared with his collaborators Lee Becker and John MacLay in winning the Broadway World Best Musical Award for Anatole, which received its world premiere at First Stage in Milwaukee in 2014.

  • Audition for Upcoming Rogue Productions

    Rogue Theater co-artistic directors Stuart Champeau and Lola DeVillers have been preparing for its spring and summer productions. Upcoming shows include comedy, improvisation, drama, and murder mystery.

    From Dec. 19 – 28, Stage Door Theatre Company will present “Yuletide Tales,” an informal readers theater performance including material both familiar and obscure, dating from the 16th century up to 1905.

  • “Two and a Half Belgians” at SDCA

    On Jan. 10 at 7 pm and Jan. 11 at 2 pm, the Southern Door Community Auditorium (SDCA) will present Let Me Be Frank Production’s new musical Two and a Half Belgians.

  • Film Lab to Begin Feb. 5

    Third Avenue Playhouse’s StageKids program is announcing its next theater lab. This winter from Feb. 5 to March 14 will be their first Film Lab. During this lab students will work with instructor Spencer Milligan to create original film projects.

  • A Victorian Style Christmas
