Birch Creek brings jazz and classical music to a rustic barn, Midsummer’s Music Festival tours the peninsula for intimate concerts, and the Peninsula Music Festival awes visitors and locals alike at the Door Community Auditorium each august.     Tickets are now available for Birch Creek Music Performance Center’s 2014 season concerts on birchcreek.org. The Percussion and Steel Band session kicks off the 2014 season on June 19.

  • Tent Show Radio is Live at DCA

    Tent Show Radio Live comes to Door Community Auditorium on April 25 as part of Wisconsin Public Radio show’s 20th-anniversary season. Tent Show Radio’s Fish Creek concert will feature best-selling author, songwriter, radio show host and amateur pig farmer Michael Perry, along with Big Top Chautauqua’s Blue Canvas Orchestra and special musical guests Corey Carlson and Katie Dahl.

  • Annual After Taxes Concert

    The annual After Taxes concert with the Algoma Community Band and Chorus, under the direction of Tom Mueller and Dave Robertson, will be held in the Algoma Elementary School Auditorium on April 30 at 7 pm.

  • Evening of Baroque Dance at Bjِrklunden

    Lawrence University’s Bjِrklunden will host a joint concert on April 20 at 1:30 pm. Always a favorite, the Lawrence University Bass Studio will perform under the direction of Mark Urness.

  • DC String Academy Announces Summer Programs

    The Door County String Academy announces summer programs: two three-week camp sessions beginning June 10 and July 15. The Orchestra Camp, designed for children four to six years old, will meet Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9 am to 11 am at Hope Church in Sturgeon Bay.

  • Midsummer’s Music Subscriptions Available

    Midsummer’s Music is offering two levels of season subscriptions this year to see world-class musicians at unique venues. A full season subscription will allow patrons to become Charter Members and to attend one concert in each of the eight programs over the summer and fall concert series for $200; a half season subscription, priced at $100, entitles patrons to attend four different concert programs.

  • Birch Creek Adds Vocal Jazz to Curriculum

    The Janice Borla Vocal Jazz Camp is joining Birch Creek’s 2014 concert season. This marks the first time in Birch Creek’s history that a vocal curriculum has been offered to students.

  • Final Lenten Concert Set for March 30

    Musicales in Lent conclude March 30 at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church in Ellison Bay. The church has been filled with music on two previous Sunday afternoons this month, when musicians of the church have presented programs reflective of the season as part of the church’s seventh annual Musicales in Lent series.

  • Sturgeon Bay Bands Presents POPS

    March 30 at 4 pm, Sturgeon Bay Public School bands gather to present POPS. The concert serves two purposes – aside from entertainment – a fundraising event for high school band students playing at Disney World in Florida over spring break and a fundraising event for scholarships to benefit all middle and high band students who wish to attend summer band camps or obtain private lessons.
