Door County is home to a selection of performance venues and ensembles unmatched by any other small communities in America. Birch Creek brings jazz and classical music to a rustic barn, Midsummer’s Music Festival tours the peninsula for intimate concerts, and the Peninsula Music Festival awes visitors and locals alike at the Door Community Auditorium each august.   • Door Concerts Presents UWGB Faculty Ensemble

    The University of Wisconsin – Green Bay (UWGB) Faculty Ensemble will hold a sampler concert on March 28 at Prince of Peace Church in Sturgeon Bay; the concert begins at 7 pm.

  • Lenten Program at Shepherd of the Bay

    The music continues at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church as the church’s principal organist Naomi Rowley is joined by Nancy Reichmann of Green Bay to present the second Musicale in Lent on March 23 at 4 pm.

  • Musicales Return to Shepherd of the Bay

    On three Sundays in March at 4 pm, musicians of Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church will present a series of Musicales in Lent. The public is invited to attend these concerts.

  • Jump Rhythm Jazz Project Dances at DCA

    “Life is a dance, really,” says Andria Nikoupolis, dance instructor and choreographer for the Northern Door YMCA Dance Program, a dancer since the age of two, a dance teacher since the age of 17.

  • Peninsula Singers Hold First Practice Feb. 24

    This spring is the perfect time to join (or rejoin) Door County’s premier choral group – The Peninsula Singers. The group is marking their 35th anniversary season with a memorable program of music.

  • A Full House for Pen Players Reading

    Peninsula Players Theatre presented a play reading of The Trip to Bountiful by Horton Foote at Björklunden on Feb. 3 to a full house of more than 100.

  • Music Fraternity in Concert at Bjِrklunden

    Lawrence University’s Bjِrklunden will host a concert on Feb. 16 at 1:30 pm. Members of the men’s music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia will perform various solo and group acts ranging from classical to jazz to pop music.

  • PMF Comes Early with February Fest

    Peninsula Music Festival (PMF) presents February Fest with the PMF Trio on Feb. 15 at 2 pm at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church in Ellison Bay. The PMF Trio is comprised of Susanna Self, flute; Jeffery Noel Lastrapes, cello; and Judith Jackson, piano.

  • Enjoy Evening of Schubert, Brahms and String Chamber Music

    Lawrence University’s Bjِrklunden will host a concert on Feb. 13 at 4:30 pm. It’s time for the annual String Chamber Music Retreat at Bjِrklunden – this year with guest artist Stephen Balderston.

  • Good, Old-Fashioned Variety Show Comes to Sturgeon Bay

    The Depot Performing Arts Center is hosting a good, old-fashioned Variety Show (think Carol Burnett, Sonny and Cher, Smothers Brothers, etc.) on Jan. 24 & 25 at 7 pm.

  • Joint Concert of Bach’s Goldberg Variations at Bjِrklunden

    Lawrence University’s Bjِrklunden will host a joint concert on Jan. 19 at 1:30 pm. Catherine Kautsky’s studio of piano performance majors will present a varied recital based on Bach’s great Goldberg Variations.

    Beginning Jan. 22, StageKids offers a theatre lab for middle and high school students. For six weeks, students will meet twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays working with professionals from the Stage Door Theatre Company.

  • Auditions for “The Vagina Monologues” Held Jan. 14

    HELP of Door County, Inc. will hold auditions for the production of The Vagina Monologues on Jan. 14 at the Sturgeon Bay Library from 5 – 6 pm. Anyone interested in participating in this production is welcome.

  • “It Had to be You” at The Depot PAC

    Rogue Theater is reprising the comedy It Had to be You at The Depot Performing Arts Center in Sturgeon Bay. Directed by Renee Kufjowski and Bill Bauernfeind, the show stars Lola DeVillers as Theda Blau and Stuart Champeau as Vito Pignoli an ill-matched couple who ends up spending a snowy Christmas Eve Together.

  • Door County Idol Reunion Concert Set for Dec. 28

    On Dec. 28, Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will host a concert by some of the most talented students Door County has seen in the last decade. This year, in celebration of Door County Idol’s tenth anniversary, the nine past Door County Idol winners will gather to present an unforgettable concert.
