There’s the historic Peninsula Players on the water, Northern Sky Theatre in the woods of Peninsula State Park, and Door Shakespeare in the gardens of Bjorklunden.   • Rogue Theater Takes Shows on the Road

    Rogue Theater will perform several shows at different locations around Sturgeon Bay in March and April. Including a murder mystery at The Lodge at Leathem Smith for Groovin’ Sisterhood Weekend on April 25, and at the soon-to-open Door County Fire Company (formerly The Ladder House).

  • Auditions Announced for “The Belgian Detective”

    Auditions for the upcoming Rogue Theater’s production of The Belgian Detective by Carol Lyons, will take place March 8 at 3 pm at The Depot Performing Arts Center.

    Souvenir opened at Third Avenue Playhouse (TAP) on Feb. 20 and will continue its run through March 9. Souvenir is based on the real life story of Florence Foster Jenkins (played by Claire Morkin) – a wealthy society eccentric who suffered under the delusion that she was a great coloratura soprano when she was in fact incapable of producing two consecutive notes in tune.

    Peninsula Players Theatre announces its 79th season, running June 17 – Oct. 19. The season will open with the world première of The Tin Woman by Sean Grennan.

    Peninsula Players Theatre, through its program The Play’s The Thing, presents a play reading of the thought-provoking comedy The Savannah Disputation by Evan Smith at Bjِrklunden on March 3 at 7 pm.

    Rogue Theater presents A Bad Year for Tomatoes at The Depot Performing Arts Center in late February and early March. In A Bad Year for Tomatoes, written by John Patrick, the famous TV actress Myra Marlowe leaves her acting career in Hollywood and leases a tiny New England cottage for a year to write her autobiography and escape the craziness of show biz.

  • “The Vagina Monologues” Performance to Benefit HELP

    Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek will host The Vagina Monologues on Feb. 28 at 7 pm. Starring ten Door County community members including Nikki Hedeen, Jean Severson, Carrie Gossen, Penny Price, Virgean Ostrand, Melissa Bennet, Danielle Warecki, Laura Lotto, Heather LaVine, and Sally Slattery, the play features humorous and compelling stories and statistics about…vaginas.

  • New Board Members for Third Avenue Playhouse

    The Third Avenue Playhouse recently added three new board members: Suzanne Crager, Sheila Sabrey- Saperstein and Sue Wehrli. Crager is currently a part-time secretary for Episcopal Church of Christ the King & Holy Nativity.

  • Door Shakespeare Celebrates Valentine’s Day

    In conjunction with the most lovey-dovey holiday of the year – St. Valentine’s Day – Door Shakespeare will present “What’s Mine, Is Yours,” an evening of Shakespearean scenes, sonnets, games, and warm wintery beverages on Feb. 15, 8 pm, at the Ephraim Village Hall.
