Door County is home to a selection of performance venues and ensembles unmatched by any other small communities in America. Birch Creek brings jazz and classical music to a rustic barn, Midsummer’s Music Festival tours the peninsula for intimate concerts, and the Peninsula Music Festival awes visitors and locals alike at the Door Community Auditorium each august.   • Young Talent Sought for Door County Fair

    The Door County Fair is looking for young emerging artists (21 years old or under) to perform on the Festival Stage on Friday, August 7.
    Anyone who is a comedian, a solo musician, a dance group, or part of a band is encouraged to get up on the Festival Stage and perform.

  • Steel Band Sessions Continue at Birch Creek

    It is the second and last week of the Percussion & Steel Band session at Birch Creek and a practice session is underway:  fifteen students are standing in front of a collection of steel drums.

    Join the Settlement Courtyard Inn as they celebrate their 25th anniversary with a free concert on the terrace Monday, July 13 at 7:30 pm. Irish roots duo Switchback will return to Door County with a special variety of American and Irish roots music.

    Johnson’s voice immediately identifies him as the man who sings “Bluer Than Blue,” “Give Me Wings,” “That’s That,” “This Night Won’t Last Forever,” and other landmark songs.

    Dianne Trenchard shares a S’more with Doc Heide at the world premiere of Sunsets & S’mores, an American Folklore Theatre (AFT) show commissioned by the Friends of Peninsula State Park.

    Jeanne Kuhns brings her versatile band, Lost Mothra, to the Woodwalk Gallery stage on Friday, July 3, with the unique sounds of Adam Mackintosh and Anna Sacks to follow in concert on the following Friday, July 10.

  • Players Backstage Tours Begin

    In conjunction with its 2009 season the Players will again offer public tours of its new stage house and all-weather audience pavilion. Free backstage tours will be offered at 2 pm on the following Sundays:  July 12, August 2, August 9, August 30, September 13, September 20, September 27, October 4 and October 11.

    Tuesday, July 7 sees the second in a series of seven Fair Trade for Talent Nights at the Door County Outpost.
    Attracting over 450 applications from around the country, the Outpost is staging a talent show and entertainment extravaganza with a difference.
