The 33rd Annual Used Book Sale will take place July 24 – 26 at the Sturgeon Bay Library, 107 S. 4th Avenue, Sturgeon Bay. Sponsored by the Friends of Door County Libraries, this popular event is the main fundraiser for the Friends of Door County Libraries, which typically awards some $20,000 worth of grants each year to support programs and activities at all the Door County libraries.

Jerry Apps to Visit Jacksonport
Jerry Apps will be the guest speaker for the Jacksonport Historical Society’s annual dinner meeting on July 23 at Mr. G’s Logan Creek Grille. The meeting begins at 6 pm, and is open to the public.

Norbert Blei Scholarship Award Presented to Nora Harris
After writer Norbert Blei died on April 23, 2013, Blei’s friend and local musician Pete Thelen was determined to find a way to honor the writer’s impact on his friends, on other writers, and on Door County itself.

Max Garland, Poet Laureate of Wisconsin, is the featured poet for the Dickinson Poetry Series on Wednesday, July 9 at 7 pm at the UU Fellowship in north Ephraim.

The Clearing Folk School is where Norbert Blei taught a week-long writing workshop every summer for nearly 45 years. The school, built by land architect Jens Jensen, is situated atop one of the most beautiful bluffs in Door County.
